A symbol of Old Siam, the elephant displays Thailand’s traditional lacquer art. About our Artist: Nantana Sompamitre learnt her craft from her husband. “We married when I was 23 years old. We realized that with his skill and mine, we could start our own workshop. He taught me and thanks to my crafting background, I learned quickly. Gradually more shops took an interest in our work and we soon began to sell more. We were very happy as we could see we had a bright future ahead of us. This is what I am proudest of in life. I never dared to dream of a day like this. “
